After Galax, we headed out on 58 West, towards Independence, VA. Along the way, we realized that we had put on a hundred miles or so, and still had a good way to go, so we figured we'd get some gas. However, it seems that the gas station owners in the area had a different idea... No gas station in the area was open.... So, we really didn't end up getting gas until we made it towards Damascus, VA.
