Well. Things have been busy. Weather has been… kind of hit and miss honestly…
The above has been a very common site around here lately. With the exception of a few days here and there that have been truly gorgeous. For instance, this past weekend Virginia’s folks came down (to bring us our new “pimp-mobile”
). So, Sunday we went up to Damascus, VA with Virginia’s folks, and enjoyed a lovely walk on a 70 degree November day. The walk was on the Virginia Creeper Trail, which is just one of many trails in Damascus that is available to walk or bike on. Someday, I’d like to get up there and rent a bike for a day. They’ll even take you up to a higher elevation area of the trail so you can basically just coast back down to the bike rental place. We still have our pumpkins out on the deck, which gives me the opportunity to play around with them whenever I get bored. Here we have the “thug” pumpkin, complete with “grill” that says “PLAYA” on the top, and “4Life” on the bottom. He grew up on the wrong side of town… there’s nothing we could do about it, but we’re trying to make him a productive part of society.
Here’s Josh. Sitting on the toilet. On his porch. … … Nothing too odd right? Well, there is a good explanation. Josh and I decided that we were going to tear into his house with a little bit of remodeling. I think it may have been more of my idea, but I just managed to talk Josh into it. We took down 2 God-Awful lights in his kitchen, put in 4 recessed six-inch can lights over the counter and “future island”, and where there was no overhead lighting, we added a ceiling fan in the living room, and in the Master Bedroom. All in all, it was a good time. Josh got to play in his attic, and he picks things up amazingly quick… I may draw him away from sitting behind a desk with the lure of the flashy construction world.
In other news, I got a new camera.(As you can see if you keep up with our Zannel Photos) Long story, but got a KILLER deal. For any photogs out there, it’s a Canon T1i DSLR camera. And it’s awesome. So, I’ve been playing with that for the past few days, as long as the weather has been nice. I’m still getting the hang of things, but hopefully, this will result in better pictures here on the blog. This is the reason for the “Day 1 Album” above. Basically, the pictures in that album are from the first day of shooting. I’ve got a bucket-full of books on photography, but if anyone has some recommendations, I’d always be open to those.
We got the “proofs” from our wedding photographer. some good looking stuff in there. As soon as we get the first group of pictures, I’ll let people know. At that time, I’ll also outline how you can get these pictures, so that you may print and whatnot.
Until next time……
