While Aaron was at the Rally...

I went to Disney World! Actually the first two days I went to Universal Studios, Orlando. Then two days in Disney. Traveling with me were my friend Maria from my old job in Richmond and Kelly, Maria's college bud - also from Richmond. We had a blast!

This is me on the Seuss Carousel at Universal. As you can see, I look like I'm 12, but I'm having a lot of fun. Also note the awesome camel pack. Yeah, hydration.

We got to stay in an awesome resort in Disney World through my work connections, so we went over there on Tuesday. It had 3 pools and 3 acres
of water park.

We spent one full day at the Magic Kingdom. Then one day at Animal Kingdom and Epcot in the evening.

Here's me in front of the tree of life at Animal Kingdom. None of us had been to this park before but it was amazing! Lots of cool animals, shows and rides. The tree of life is hand carved with all different animals on it.

Finally, here's Mickey at the parade in Magic Kingdom.

Annual FZ1OA Rally

We took off to the annual Deals Gap FZ1OA Rally at Fontana Village for June 6,7,8. We loaded up the trailer, and took off after riding some fun roads here in Boone first. The folks at Fontana were kind of a pain. If I based this entire experience on how we were treated by the management and staff at Fontana Village, I would NEVER go back. The manager was a complete A-Hole and he tried to rip us off by several hundred dollars.

This was the ride we took on Saturday (After getting pulled over at 7:15 AM by a THP Master Trooper). It was a fun ride, but 143 heading to the Cherohola Skyway was freshly tarred and graveled.. like that morning... and once on the Skyway, we had to keep pulling over because we'd get stuck behind guys on Harleys that would give us headaches with their loud pipes, and for some reason, they couldn't figure out how to make their bikes go over 15MPH. 360 heading back North was a BLAST! The road had nice long sweepers, that seemed to go on forever.. at times, we were asking ourselves if we were just going in one big circle..

Evening times at the Rally were spent sitting around talking... drinking beer.. and trying to recover from the day of riding... Rally provided food was Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Sausage, Potato Salad, Pasta Salad, and the like... but we missed dinner the first night and Lisa made us some AWESOME sandwiches with Bacon!!

Outside Photos

Here is a pic from about 45 seconds before we got pulled over the 1st time... at about 7:15AM

And then, Coming back.... right after getting pulled over.

Fontana Dam During Deals Gap Rally

We traveled down to Deals Gap for the Annual FZ1OA Rally. It was overall a good time, but it was pretty dang hot.

These were our smiling faces in the 95+ degree weather... from left to right, Brennan, Newhall, Lisa, and ME!

This is the Fontana Dam... it's pretty dang huge.. 2 lanes of traffic across the top, and some good views all around...

Worst Parking situation ever... I'd hate to work there..

I wish I knew more about Dams... I don't know what all of this stuff is... but it made good pictures...
And... at the end of the day... coming back towards Fontana over the Gap... it had just rained... there were cops EVERYWHERE.. and debris all over the road... we were going about 20MPH.. We had just gotten pulled over at the bottom of the mountain. (2nd time that day)

Doesn't Lisa just look mean? She has right to be angry... she could've gotten off of the bike and run beside us at the speeds we were going..

Action Shots!

Today we went out to breakfast, and decided to go play Putt Putt Golf afterwards. We had a good time, we didn't keep score. (Which was good, because we both would have stroked out by the time we hit the 3rd hole) All in all, it was a good start to the day.

Virginia Liked the holes where she could hit the ball, and it would just roll back down the hill towards her. Most of the time, she wouldn't bother waiting for the ball to stop before hitting it again.
