Feeding the Ducks

Today.. we went on a little motorcycle ride up on the Parkway. We went to the Julian Price Lake, and walked around for a bit, then off to Blowing Rock; where we got some Kilwin's Ice Cream and walked around. Then back to campus to feed some leftover bread to some ducks... they were a good time.

Went to Deals Gap. It was an ok time, but the surrounding roads were as much fun as the Gap itself. Didn't get to spend too much time there. I would wait for a nice open spot, try to get a good run in, and get stuck behind a bunch of Harleys doing 20MPH.

The South Holton Dam was a nice stop. They have a mile long hiking trail, a few overlooks at the dam, and apparently, they let people fish there also. We saw a bunch of people fishing, but no-one catching anything.

Bristol is an interesting town. Since it straddles the state line of VA/TN there is some "kitchy" stuff playing off of that, but the town is nice. There are big murals on several walls; one for country music, one for Nascar (Dale Earnhart specifically)

Holton Lake was gorgeous. We went down and played by the water for a little bit, but Virginia wouldn't get in the water.... something about it being too cold.

Bristol Trip

So, Virginia and I took a little trip the other day around the area. We went to Mountian City, TN, Damascus, VA, Shady Valley, TN, Holton Lake, and Bristol, VA/TN.

These interesting gravestones were a bit creepy, but they were at a headstone shop in downtown Mountian City.

New Blog

Just getting into the "Blogging" Deal... had a bunch of good rides and trips lately, I figured I can use this space to share. I'll use this place for posting pictures, links to videos, and ride routes.
